Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Nazif, chaired the 89th meeting
of the Cabinet of Ministers and discussed internal and external affairs.
Regarding the internal affairs, Dr. Nazif congratulated
Egyptian workers on the Workers' Day and confirmed their significant role as
being the backbone of development and progress in Egypt. He added that the government
is keen on preserving workers' rights and achieving their interest.
In this concern, the meeting reviewed a report on President
Mubarak speech given in the Workers Day where he confirmed the following;
1-
The workers' rights are preserved and he asked workers not
to follow fake slogans.
2-
He called them to be one row in front of those who trying
to shake the country's stability.
3-
He also called the government and parliament to speed the
progress and renaissance laws in Egypt topped by legislations which
organize relations between employers and employees, as well as the insurance
pension and health insurance laws.
4-
Loses of stumbled companies were reduced and debts settled.
5-
He referred to reforms and development of the state's
assets.
6-
He called the government to attract Egyptian, Arab and
foreign investments not lower than 24% annually of GDP.
Concerning the external affairs, Dr. Nazif presented a
report on the Iraqi President visit to Egypt
where he met President Mubarak and hailed the Egyptian balanced situation
towards Iraq.
The Minister of Economic Development, Dr. Othman Mohamed
Othman, presented a follow-up report on the economic and social performance
over the third quarter of FY 2009/2010.
