Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Nazif, chaired the 85th meeting
of the Cabinet of Ministers and discussed general and internal issues.
Dr.
Nazif presented the latest report on President Mubarak's health after the
successful gallbladder surgery he underwent in Germany.
Dr. Nazif expressed his condolences over the death of Grand
Imam of Al-Azhar Sheikh Mohamed Sayed Tantawy who died today morning in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Regarding the internal affairs, the meeting reviewed a
report on President Mubarak speech paid in the occasion of Prophet Muhammad
Birthday. They covered a report on President Mubarak's visit to Beni-Suef
governorate.
The meeting also discussed the solar prices crisis and
efforts taken in this concern, the government housing programme and the human
rights issues.
Concerning human rights, Dr. Nazif confirmed the following;
First: The president, government and all organizations are
concerned with human rights issues and committed to developing them in
accordance to the Egyptian constitution and laws.
Second: The concerned authorities shall study, follow-up
and implement recommendations included in the human rights review.
Third: Dr. Nazif hailed efforts played by Dr. Mofid Shehab,
the team work, the permanent mission of Egypt
to Geneva as
well as the Foreign Ministry in the supervision process.
