Prime Minister heads Energy Supreme Council meeting

The Prime Minister Sherif Ismail presided today the meeting of the Supreme Council of Energy with the presence of Ministers of Planning, Housing, Electricity and renewable Energy, Environment, Military Production, International Cooperation, Petroleum, Commerce and Industry, Transportation, Finance, Tourism and Investment.

The meeting reviewed the possible intersections of petroleum activities and gas pipelines with the sites of electricity production projects such as renewable and non-renewable  energy, and ways to avoid such intersections taking into consideration the importance of the mentioned above activities and the necessity of securing adequate coordination between officials and specialist in the concerned ministries in this regard.

Ambassador Ashraf Sultan, spokesman of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers highlighted the importance that the government is giving to the production projects aiming to contribute to industrial and economic development, and that in this context, the meeting approved the request of the national company of Fertilizers and Chemicals to receive a share of natural gas to operate a production line of Ammonia with capacity of 270 thousand m3 per day,  it was also preliminarily approved the request of the Egyptian Company of Iron and Steel (Beshay) to expand its activities by adding complementary lines of production necessary to the ongoing main activities of the company in Sadat City.
